Was READ TUESDAY destined to be annual?
Yes.
Chris McMullen, the
(It's possible through some weird one-number-ahead gizmo built by a guy so well-versed in numbers that they call him Darth Physics.)
Anyway, Darth Physics is his evil twin. Obi-Wan Chris founded READ TUESDAY. A book sale for the festive season? Absolutely.
Last year, I had trouble matching the sale date in time. In the end, I only had one book on sale come the day. It jumped inside the top twenty on a chart.
Will that happen this year? I don't know. The stars aligned, and it's certainly been easier setting up my sales. Seven out of ten products feature in the sale - that's all the eligible ones.
But. This isn't just about organising a sale. The point is to get people talking about books. And you don't have to risk your arms and legs as you cling to a massive TV, whether you participate in this sale or not.
This festive sale is not about camping outside a supermarket at some heathenish hour of the night, or running into battle over a giant TV. It's about going on the internet and having a look around.
You needn't buy. But we all hope you have a burning desire to read. There's plenty of free stuff to read on my blog. I hope to see other writers out there, with plenty of free stuff to read on their blogs.
If the stars didn't align for you this year, if you can't get a free book out on the 9th of December, that's okay. This is definitely annual. As a sale.
Reading. That's daily. ;)
